You can become an annual member here for £10 a year plus £10 affiliation fee to the MYA, all payable to ARCSC.
Affiliation not only gives you access to the MYA and all that it offers but also provides you with the 3rd party insurance cover you need for liabilities that you may incur through using a public asset.
You don't have to be a member of ARCSC to sail at Alton but you will need to purchase day membership at the office. Day membership rates are £12.50 a day - The centre does not discriminate what type of sailing craft you use.
You will also be asked for your MYA number if you chose to just turn up and are affiliated through another club.
Anglian Water now charges for car parking which can be up to £12 for 6 hours. Club members normally buy a season ticket costing £75 which works out quite reasonable if you sail every week or even only 10 weeks.
NB Alton Water does not allow powered craft.

Dragon Force 65 & dRAGON fLIGHT 95
We sail these boats for a number of reasons. First and foremost they are one design so each boat is equal to the next and this leads to fast, exciting and fair fleet racing.
They are inexpensive (from circa £200) and require very little build out of the box. Simply attach the sails to the mast, attach the mast to the boat and insert batteries and you are away.
The are readily available. here is a good place to start click me

Alton Water is a fantastic facility. Already many dinghy owners and other water sports users have come to love this Suffolk idyll. Like many waters in the UK, Alton can suffer from excessive summer weed at the margins along with some floating weed. This is a problem for our sailing hence the migration to Dovercourt. With members from Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex we are happy to meet at venues throughout East Anglia.
Alton water has a café close by, changing rooms, toilet and showering facilities, tea and coffee, and the new camp and caravan area.
Membership to the ARCSC allows you to use their facilities and most importantly it allows access to the water.
Should anyone wish to donate to the cause - please click the donate button. All proceeds to the development of a new club
